...we were at a hotel in Cedar City. We had to get up and get ready pretty early for the drive down to St. George. My decision to hide my early stage of pregnancy was in an attempt to not steal anyone's thunder, but I had a feeling that it would be hard to hide that morning; I was so exhausted and a tad nauseated.
The girls were pretty agreeable in getting ready, but my own downfall was not getting myself ready quickly enough. We climbed into the cars and headed south.
"Ug," I said to Darin, "such a hot day for a wedding. Even for being so early in the morning. What were they thinking picking today?!"
Once at the temple we gave some quick instructions to my dad & my sister, who would be watching the girls while we were inside. We sat down in the sealing room and after awhile, the bride and groom entered. What a sight. The culmination of their writing letters during his mission, of her waiting for him, of their whirlwind 'planning' time of six weeks since he returned with honor. But not only the end, also the beginning -- of their own kingdom.
After the ceremony, we got in line to well-wish. Instead of one-at-a-time, like everyone previous had done, I hugged them both at the same time. My brother whispered in my ear, "You, all right? I learned it by watching you."
As Darin and I walked outside, holding hands, I looked over at him, and he said to me, "Happy Anniversary."

Thanks, Ladies! Nine years for us.

Happy Anniversary to both pairs!
Happy Anniversaries!
Beautiful! I love happy stories of happy marriages.
Wihing you an eternity of wonderful years together!
Happy Anniversary to good examples. ;-)
I would so go get crazy and have some fun making bedroom eyes... but I think we're at the stage where the bun in the oven keeps moving... sorta spoils the mood. ;-)
word verification: njistefu (ninja steph-fu)
Queen -- yeah, the bun and his gymnastics can be cumbersome...but even moreso is that fact that Darin is out of town. And, sadly, this is at least the third time we have been apart for our anniversary. I've thought about changing it...
Hooray for August anniversaries, happy couples, and having those things in common!
Oh, Nooners.
Oh, Ecktoniki.
Since this is the "invisible gift" year, I am getting you a pony. Her name is Sugarpie. I hope that the invisible poop is not a problem.
That's it... for next year... you two need to take a romantic something something away from kiddies and celebrate the BIG 10. Just...bring enough... contraceptives. heheheh
Being that it is the bronze year, may I suggest a romantic stroll down Center Street to see all of the wonderful new bronze sculptures we have just installed. (I would wait until D comes home to do this)...
Happy Anniversary! Yeah,uh, I guess that's all I wanted to say.... :-)
Happy Anniversary!
