Wheat kernels/wheat berries, can also be purchased through Distribution Services (www.ldscatalog.com) We can pick them up at the local cannery around here...how does that work in UT?
Also, we have a local grainery, (http://honeyvillegrain.com/) I get my flax and soft white wheat for grinding here (Pastry flour! Or mix it with hard red to make an all purpose.)
There are probably local graineries much closer to you... this would cut out the shipping cost (honeyville's online prices are higher than pick up prices, to help defray shipping costs)

Are you looking for red wheat or white wheat? The church cannery usually has red wheat, although our cannery in San Antonio has been limiting it to one case per person.
If you live in Utah or Idaho you can get it at several preparedness places. If you're out of state you'll have to pay shipping. This is usually as expensive as the wheat itself. The cost of wheat has gone up 400% in the last year!
I haven't really found a solution to this problem. Emergency essentials charges about $80 per 45 lb bucket (inc. shipping.) So expensive!
Costco sells a good white wheat. That's supposed to be better for breads than red, easier on the system. The stuff we got from Lindon Cannery has relatively large amount of wheat with the chaff still on it, compared to wheat we've got from other sources.
Winco up here in Boise! If you can't find them there let me know and I'll just send you on some.
