Last fall, Lindsey Buckingham came to Salt Lake as part of his solo tour. I wanted to go, but I didn’t want to go by myself. I asked a few people if they’d like to join me, but no one could (or wanted to) go. So I didn’t go.
And I regret it.
I did ask friends if they wanted to come along to last Wednesday’s show, but, again, it just didn’t work out.
Should I go by myself? Not go at all? I didn’t want to feel like I had missed out, the way I felt last fall.
So I made an executive decision.
We took the trax and bought our tickets. I don’t know that we could have gotten better seats.
We shared pretzel bites w/ cheez and some water and waited for the show to start. Shortly after 8:pm, we heard the sound effect of crickets, and then…
Here’s the playlist, interspersed with fun anecdotes as delivered by band members:
Monday Morning
The Chain
-Stevie says we should get this party started
Dreams
Not That Funny
-Stevie lived in Salt Lake
Gypsy
Go Insane
Rhiannon
-First song recorded for the Rumours album was…
Second Hand News
Tusk
Sara
-(during this song I was sending photos to my phone and missed some romantic hug between Lindsey and Stevie. I wonder if their spouses get mad that these two are still in hippie-love.)
-the first single from the Tango In The Night album was…
Big Love
-this next song is dedicated to Stevie’s bff from when she lived in Salt Lake when she was 13 years old, Carolyn…

The only thing that makes me feel better about not being able to go is knowing the two of you had such a great time together. And oh--love that photo of the two of you.
Oh and I love hippie love, too.
That's all.
When she was spinning. As opposed to...?
I love little ~J with a love that is almost more than I can bear.
Love that photo, what a good Momma, and one lucky (not little anymore) girl!
Such a great concert - loved it.
she will remember that forevah and evah...
how awesome.
How fun. I can't wait to do that with mine. Lil ~j and you look like twins. Absolutely lovely. You make beautiful kids.
So fun...Wish I could have been at the show. You and your beautiful daughter look like the night was a huge success and a very exciting memory for the 2 of you. I remember the concerts my parents took me too when I was young. Beautiful!!!
I love that you took Li'l ~j with you. It looks like a moment that she will never forget.
My hubby and I went to a FM show a few years ago and had a GREAT time. They put on a good show. I wish that Christine McVie would tour with them.
Thanks for posting the pics!
FUN! I love Fleetwood Mac and you both just made an awesome memory.
I am glad you were able to spend time with lil~j. She looks so happy and so you do. There is nothing like having dates with your children. You are such a good Mom!
What a fun "hot date"----thats what we call them....
How sweet. What a fun little mommy-daughter date. I bet she'll remember that forever.
I can't wait until my kid can not poop in his pants and carry on a conversation that doesn't involve Mickey Mouse and that we can go do something fun like that.
I must say that is an awesome sounding evening...perfect company.
sounds perfecto...I miss going to concerts
I love it! I want a copy of your pic, and wonder if she was the youngest one there? Do you remember the MJ concert in Buffalo? I don't think you were as old & our seats weren't as good, but it was fun. Love you
Such a rad mom! How cool for Ray-Ray to go with you! You have just created a memory & feeling for her that will never die. Awesome!
