This is the couch in my front room. Notice how meticulously the slipcover fits its berth. That pile neatly lain atop? Why, that's my late-July project, and just in time: storing the winter clothes.
Sink. I usually leave the dishes overnight, and the reason is that I like to load the dishwasher in the morning, after the gym, whilst listening to the radio.
my genius son, not yet three years old.
We call it,
"Bits O' Cheddar [as an Embellishment to the Stairs]".
And then there's this. Ratty ol' onesie (day 2 or 3 with that, who knows). Brother's boxer shorts (why does he have boxers? He wears diapers.). Droopy diaper (= peep on the table). Banana peel. Crackers. Chewing on sister's preschool nametag. OH YEAH, and she's on the table, and I don't know how she got up there or how long she's been there.
You know . . .

I linked here from Segullah. Thank you thank you thank you for taking pictures of what a real home looks like!!!!!! You made me feel less alone in my messy existance.
That is a whole lot of awesomeness.
Instead of feeling horrified or that I should call social services, I just feel a deep longing to be there. Homesickness for my home-away-from-home.
I LOVE IT!! Thanks for making me feel at home....
Dang girl, you are brave! I thought I was looking at pictures of my own house! Can I just say (and echo the comments above) that I'm so grateful-and happily pleased-that I am not alone in the crazy chaos of motherhood!
"Livin' the dream" is right!
yes, yes, yes and yes.
I am much more often than not, a morning dish-doer as well. When are we opening our Bollywood Dance Studio?
As soon as li'l c gets fired.
