~Think through an answer. You're standing behind a very pregnant woman in the grocery store check-out line, and you four-year-old asks loudly, "Mom, how will her baby get out?"
I am an open book with this subject with my kids. I want them to have a healthy view of sex, without shame, and an understanding of how their bodies operate, again, without shame. That being said, I could go on and on and on about all sorts of aspects of this topic (for example, my two oldest, at their request and welcomed by me, watched the birth of their youngest sister), but since I’m about a week behind in these assignments, I’ll be brief.
This book is GREAT for helping younger kids and parents have honest and open conversations about the basics:
Heads Up: It is from an LDS perspective, and uses phrases like ‘Heavenly Father’, and talks about the importance of saving sexual relationships for marriage.
Here’s the thing, though: good luck finding it. Not available online* , and I haven’t seen it in stores for a while.
*that is, it's on amazon for the low, low price of $97.02. I wish I was kidding about that.
.
What is this? Why, it's homework!
You can get in on the fun, too!

brad did all of the maturation classes my boys attended at the elementary school. he is fantastic! i feel like i got off easy.
Good book suggestion. I wonder if it would be available on ebay.
I have sex talks with my kids all the time. People laugh at me when I tell the stories of our talks. I am completely open, honest, and very frank with them. Did I mention they are both boys? Yup... I talk to my boys about sex. And so does my husband. It isn't a dirty or a taboo subject.
